Weather Sign - NEW

Many of our members have written and asked if we could do a monthly weather sign. Here you go! Look for a different sign every month.

Click on the image and open the sign. It is in MS Word format. Type in the date and the day's weather information - such as expected high and low temperatures, wind, humidity, cloud conditions, etc. You can find this information online at the Weather Channel. (Simply type in your area code.)

You can also change the title and say something like "Our Local Weather," "Let's Weather Together," or "Weather or Not."

If you want, change the title to say "Weekly Forecast" and list the weather for the upcoming week.

August Daily Activity Signs

Each day of the month is on a separate 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of paper. Select from two different designs and two different formats - MS Word and Adobe PDF. Review About the Signs to help you make your choice.

About the Signs

Changing the title. You can type in your own title using either format. Simply change "Today's Activities" to "What's Happening," "Today's Programs," "Special Events," "Today's Announcements," or other title. If using the ADOBE PDF format, change the title on one page and it will appear on all of the pages. If using the MS WORD signs, do a "find and replace" to change all of the titles at the same time.

Changing the font size/style. Select the MS WORD signs if you want to change the font size/style of the title or the main text of the sign. Note: You cannot change the date.

Copying text from monthly calendar. Swipe, copy, and paste your daily activities from your monthly or weekly calendar to make a daily sign. If using the ADOBE PDF signs, the text will automatically be formatted. If using the MS WORD signs, some formatting might be required to achieve the desired look.

Note: If you do not have Adobe Writer on your computer (in addition to Adobe Reader), be prepared to print your signs before closing the file. Your computer will not save your changes and will open again as a blank sign.

Ideas & Uses

  1. Print your daily sign (with a list of the day's activities) on the back of your Daily Chronicles.
  2. Make copies and post them in elevators and on each floor.
  3. Put a copy of the daily sign in a plexiglas frame and stand it on the receptionist's desk.
  4. Change the title to "Today's Birthdays" and type the names in the body of the sign. Include residents, staff, volunteers, and even famous people born on the day.
  5. Put "Welcome" in the title and make a special welcome sign for new residents.
