This course will help professional caregivers understand hearing problems in older adults and how these problems can affect balance. It will discuss various types of hearing problems, such as: • Presbycusis • Noise-induced hearing loss • Sensorineural hearing loss • Conductive hearing loss • Variations of common hearing losses • Tinnitus. It will also recommend strategies and techniques to help the residents (and others) deal with hearing problems.
