Preserving Individual Spirituality Through Assessment, Planning and Programming: 5 CE Hours
This course is approved by The NCCAP for 5 CE Hours. NCCAP30172-11
In order to provide appropriate care and support to someone, we must first understand all that we can about that person, including the core values that have defined his or her life. Spiritual health, along with physical and mental health, comprises an individual's well-being. This course will teach the importance of understanding and planning for spiritual and religious needs. We give insight to spiritual and religious beliefs that might be practiced by the population you serve. We address the possible challenges one might face when seeking a meaningful spiritual assessment, and provide tools, the right questions to ask, and how to ask them. We also show how to develop a care plan for meeting spirituality needs, some of the regulations for spiritual care in health care facilities, ways to promote a spiritual culture, and possible programming within you community as well as support from the outside community.
