I need your help!  What is your idea of spirituality and how would you incorporate that into your activity program, aside from bible studies, church services and singing.

For Catholics, Rosary is a nice group. Very calming, familar, almost mantra like. Perfect for all functioning levels! I think the non-denominational approach to spirituality works very well. Actually, activity connection's "Activities for the Soul" can be very useful especially when you have a group that is of mixed faiths. The overall premise is that "All Roads Lead to God". Having everyone read aloud affirmations, psalms, inspirational and motivational quotes can be "food for the soul"! There are some ambient videos that are out there that have beautiful music, scenery and inspirational, short statements that can be moving as well.

Our spiritual care coordinator leads a meditation group and a spiritual movie group once per week, along with a rosary group.  Several people who are not necessarily church goers participate in these other groups and find them quite meaningful.

Where do you get your movies?  Do you have a movie list?  I'm interested in learning more.

Does your county library have a book mobile? That's where we get ours. Your county library might also mail them to you.

There are a few Jehovah's Witnesses in our facility. A couple of them go out to the Kingdom Hall to their weekly meetings, but one in particular isn't well enough to do that anymore. So I now take the ones who are in pretty good shape down to her room. They read their magazines and devotionals to her and the 3 of them discuss it then just have a nice visit after. All three really enjoy this time they have together and that they can fellowship with others who share their faith. Having small group devotionals could be done with anyone who shares the same beliefs.
