We are not allowed to have open flames so we don't use candles. We purchase the big birthday cake, show it to everyone and sing happy birthday then cut it ourselves in the activity area and serve it to the residents. We follow all infection control guidelines. Any cake left over, I like to take turns with the various different department and give to them. One month I may give it to Maintenance, then to Dietary, then to Housekeeping, etc. |

One month I may give it to Maintenance, then to Dietary, then to Housekeeping, etc. We too are not allowed to have open flames at our facilty and show everyone the cake set it in the center of the room, sign to everyone with a birthday that month and then cut the cake and hand it out to everyone. Much easier and less hassle than with 2 different cakes. |
