Hello Everyone,

I am a new Activities Director and I just would like to say, Wow I finally fit in somewhere. You all sound so wonderful and I am very greatful to have this forum to refer too. I am not fimilar with this club however it sounds like a winner to me! Please include us in this program. Would someone be able to direct me in starting this club? Thank you and as I create activities -I will share my ideas as well. I am currently working on my first calender.

Kat...Just to let you know, I sent you a postcard on April 21st from Wales, and it returned to us today, May 4th.  I had sent out 8 that day, and yours was the only one to come back.  I just checked your name and address, and everything was correct.  Do you have any idea what happened?  I took it back to the post office to see if they could offer any advice, and they checked the postage cost, and that was correct.  Also, it appears that it made it to the States, and it was sent back from there.  Anyway, I tried, and I can try again.  The man at the post office suggested I put it back in the post again.  Would like to hear from you.  Thanks!  Carol

I would Like to be on the Pen Pal List!  I have a question though.............Do I start by sending a post card to all of the facilities that are on these posts or do I just leave my address here and wait for post cards from those that are interested to send me one?  Not sure how this works so please fill me in!  Either way will be fine with me as long as I get my residents involved!  Thank you!

Hi, Carol and all of you in the White House!  We just received your card and people are excited!  They loved the picture!  We are a small town, so I am going to talk to our Chamber of Commerce Director to see if we have postcards-otherwise, we'll send some local pictures in a regular card. 'Til then, tell them Hi, and we appreciate their card! We really looked the stamps over, as they were different from ours!  Right now, our area has had record-setting rains, several major thunderstorms with tornados nearby, and just had a day of sun today-then it poured down rain in the afternoon!  But the sun began to shine, and although I couldn't find one, a few miles away, people posted pics of a double rainbow!  I did see one here several years ago and it is neat!   Do your people play Wii?  Ours would actually rather watch kids play it and cheer them on, but we're trying to get them to move those arms! 

So far we have received postcards from 16 states and 2 countries. My resident love this activity and I love hearing them tell other people about it. I'm excited to see states on the list that I didn't have an address for. We have postcard group this morning, so we will get busy sending out some postcards.

We are a 84 bed facility in Highlands, NC. My residents are really excited to send and receive postcards from all over the world... I am starting with sending out 25 cards tommorrow.
