If
you are "loony" about bingo, celebrate the
anniversary of the first man on the moon (July 20, 1969)
with a game of LUNAR bingo. It will be "out of
this world!" Also, this is a great bingo game
to play whenever there is a full moon.
Printing
the cards
Begin
by printing up to 36 different cards. For
reusable cards, we suggest printing on heavy card
stock paper. Print on regular paper for disposable
cards (where the players use marking pens or bingo
daubers to mark their cards).
- Lucky
Man in the Moon. Each card has a small crescent
"man in the moon" in the corner of one
square. There are several ways it can be used:
- The first person to cover the square wins the
game.
- The
winners get an extra or special prize if
their bingo includes the "lucky moon."
- The
square can be an extra "free space."
- Ask
all the players to write their "lucky
moon" number (i.e., L12) on a piece of
paper. Draw a winner at the end of the game.
-
Don't
Say Bingo! Ask the players to yell out
MOON, BLUE MOON or MAN IN THE MOON instead of BINGO
when they think they have a winning card. If they
forget, they lose.

For
markers
You
can use your usual bingo markers or click
on the image and print a sheet of
moons. Cut out along the dotted lines and your markers
are ready. For heavier markers, copy to heavyweight
paper (110 lb.) or card stock. Alternatively, glue
your sheets to a piece of poster board (spray glue
works best). Then, cut along the dotted lines using
a sharp utility knife. You can even decoupage your
makers to pieces of balsa wood to make permanent
markers. (This can be a great project for your craft
group.)
